Q. What is Henna?
Henna, common name for a shrub & a dye that is obtained from its leaves. The shrub is also called alkanna & mignonette tree grows mainly in Southern Asia. It bears small, fragrant, white or rose colored flowers in clusters. The orange red dye produced from its leaves is used extensively as a rinse to impart reddish color to hair. Women use the dye to stain the nails & tips of their fingers & parts of their feet. Men of arab countries use the dye to color their beards. Henna grows in hot climate in semi arid regions in north western part of India which is best suited for Henna cultivation. Indian henna is the finest henna in the world and is exported worldwide.

Q. Are there is any side effects while using Henna?
Henna is being used since 5000 years. In MUGHUL period henna was used to beautify hand, feet and dying hair in natural golden brown shades by Kings, Queens and Emperors. In India it is used in holy traditions like marriages and festivals to decorate hands and feet. It is 100% natural product. Its allergic reactions are very rare, but we suggest that the user must undergo for allergic test before using the henna as you do the test for normal cosmetic product. Applying Henna is very simple and painless. Its really work like a jewel on the body!!!!

Q. Is it harmful?
No, not at all. In fact Pure Henna is good for your hair.

Q. Is henna the same thing as Mehendi?
Yes. Mehendi and Henna are the same thing and mean the same thing.

Q. How long it will take to apply?
A large design will take normally 30 to 45 minutes. Small designs 15 to 30 minutes. Some very large designs can take hours.

Q. How long should I leave the paste on skin?
Make sure the paste is completely dry. Generally one to two hours. However, leave the paste as long as on skin. The longer duration you keep the paste on hand or arm it may last even longer time but don’t wash your hand in water, just peel off the dry paste by hand or use small wooden stick.

Q: What are the usual colors of henna decorations?
Depending on your body chemistry and skin color, the designs can appear as orange, red, brown, burgundy. The color of henna is also based on the strength of the dye-paste mixture and the length of time it is left in place.

Q. How Long Henna Tattoo last on skin?
Designs stay on skin between 5-15 days depending on the intensity of the color, which skin portion that was tattooed and to what time duration you hold tattoo on skin. How often you wash hand or any part of body with soap and water.

Q. What is henna Oil?
Henna Oil refers to a oil which is used with henna. It does not contain henna or its extract. In fact it is a mixture of various natural extracts like Eucalyptus Oil, Clove Oil, Lemongrass oil, Terpentine oil, Citronella oil etc.

Q. How Henna oil works?
Henna oil certainly helps the print to be darker and last longer. Please use oil before and after the applying the henna for body tattoo.

Q. What is Neutral Henna?
This is a type of henna which only conditions hair but does not give any color to hair. This is a completely natural product. It is used as an additive in conditioners, shampoos and other cosmetic products. Hair treated with Neutral Henna bounces with health. Neutral henna is also used for placing on tombstones at graves as a benediction in Islamic religion.

Q. What is Indigo?
Indigo (Indigofera tinctoria) is a shrub, grinded leaves of which give deep blue color. Indigo is known as "Wasma” in Arabic and Urdu language. Good Quality Indigo in starting imparts deep green color but after 24 to 48 hours it changes the color and becomes deep blue.

Normally Indigo farming is done for Medical purpose and Fabric dyes. Hennex India is the first company to introduce Indigo for hair coloring.

With help of Indigo and other herbs we have developed different color shades. Indigo can be used not only for blue but also for many other colors.

Q. What is Henna Based Hair Dye?
It contains Henna and safe chemicals

Q. What is the shelf life of color hair dye?
If stored in a cool and dry place, the product has a shelf life of three years from the date of manufacturing.

Q. How long color dye stay on hair?
Normally it stays on hair for 30 days.

Q. Is it harmful?
No, not at all we never use harmful chemicals in our henna color. All our products strictly comply with European Standards and thereby ensuring safety of usage.

Q. What is the difference between 100% Natural Hair Colors, Fast Acting Herbal Hair Colors and Henna Based Hair Dyes?
1. 100% Natural Hair colors (no chemicals). These are to applied for 3 hours and give final result after two applications(except for pure henna and herbal henna which give final result in single application). These are available in 8 shades:
- Pure Henna (orange)
- Herbal Henna (orange)
- Indigo Powder (purple blue)
- Natural black
- Natural Dark Brown
- Natural Brown
- Natural Light Brown
- Neutral Henna (gives only conditioning to hair but does not color hair)

This is the latest offering from our Company. We have developed Herbal Hair Colors which give color to hair in 45 minutes. Following shades are available : Orange, Red, Copper Brown, Mahogany

The red shade can also be used to tattoo skin and make designs instantly
3. Henna Based Hair Dyes Applied on hair for 20-30 minutes. Gives strong color on hair and gives final result on single application.available in 13 shades : Black, Natural Black, Dark Brown, Special Brown, Light Brown, Chestnut, Burgundy, Red wine, Auburn, Blonde, Golden Bronze, Yellow, Sunset Orange. It contains chemicals.

Q. Do's and Dont's?
Do store Henna in a cool, dry, dark place.

Do Patch Test:
To test allergy, first apply the paste within inside your elbow & let it dry for some time.Now watch for any reaction. In case of reddening, burning or itching do not use the product otherwise go ahead & safely use Amars Henna.

Don't use henna in the area of the eye, your eyebrows, or internally.

Don't refrigerate henna.

Don't use henna on newly chemically treated hair; it may cause unplanned hair variations.

Don't coat the hair with henna right before getting a perm. Henna can restrain the activity of the perm chemicals and thus, reverse the perm's results.
